Real-Time Body Tracking




The storyboard shows how the garden evolves from individual exploration to shared blooms as participants
move closer together and remain engaged.

The experience transforms participants’ proximity into a shared garden, using real-time body tracking to
control responsive projected lotuses.

We used OpenCV and YOLOv8-Pose to detect and track multiple participants’ positions and movements
in real time.

The initial prototype used simple projected circles to test tracking accuracy, projection alignment, and
how participants’ visuals responded and merged as they moved closer together.

In TouchDesigner, we built a node-based system that translated real-time body-tracking data into responsive flower animations that
changed according to participants’ positions and proximity.
